In the year 2020, Diwali will be celebrated on 14 November

Deepawali is one of the best festivals of Hindus.  Which is celebrated in almost all the countries of the world including India where people of Hindu community live.  The festival of Deepawali is celebrated every year at the end of October or early November which is celebrated on the Amavasya month of Kartik from the Hindu calendar.  On this day lamps of ghee or mustard oil are lit in a lamp made of clay.  Goddess Lakshmi, the goddess of wealth, is worshiped on this day.  It is believed that on the day of Diwali, Goddess Lakshmi, the Goddess of wealth, comes home and blesses her devotees with blessings and wealth.

There is also another special reason to celebrate Deepawali, during the Ramayana period when Lord Rama killed Ravana and returned to Ayodhya after making Ravana's brother Vibhishan the king of Lanka, then when Lord Rama returned to Ayodhya then Ayodhya  The people had decorated the entire Ayodhya by lighting a lamp and welcomed Lord Rama.  Since then, this festival of Diwali is being celebrated.  People of India still decorate their homes, it is believed that Lord Rama and Goddess Lakshmi, the goddess of wealth, come to their homes on this Diwali.

Even before the festival of Deepawali, people go out of their house and start clean and clean.  All the people clean their house thoroughly and also get the houses painted.  It is believed that Mata Lakshmi enters the house which is clean and tidy.  Mata Lakshmi fills that house with more money.  On this day, along with Goddess Lakshmi, Lord Ganesha and Goddess Saraswati are also worshiped.  Traders and shopkeepers call Pandit ji in their shops and offer prayers on this day.

The festival of Deepawali is celebrated for about 7 days.  It is celebrated as 1 short Diwali of Diwali on the new moon day of Kartik month and the day after or next day.  On this day, people go to each other's homes and offer wishes, eat and feed sweets, as well as people go to each other's house with gifts. Apart from this, workers from big or small industries or factories are given some gifts to their workers.
