Pranab Mukherjee (Former President of India)
Pranab Mukherjee was born on December 11, 1935 into a Bengali family. He was born in Mirati village of Birbhum district of West Bengal. Indians were active in the independence movement. His name was Kamada Kinkar Mukherjee. He was a member of the Legislative Council of West Bengal from 1952 to 1964. Pranav Mukherjee Mother's name was Rajalakshmi Mukherjee. Pranab Mukherjee started his education in Suri. He studied at Suri Vidyasagar College. His college was affiliated to the University of Calcutta. He is an MA in Political Science and History.
Pranab Mukherjee started his career as an Upper Division Clerk in the Post and Telegraph Department at the Office of the Deputy Accountant General, Calcutta. Vidyasagar in 1963 He started teaching political science in college. He also worked as a journalist. Mukherjee started his political career in 1969. These were very active political activists. The then Prime Minister, Mrs. Indira Gandhi recognized Mukherjee's genius. He included them in his Congress party. In 1969, he was given a seat in the Rajya Sabha. He was re-elected to the post in 1975, 1981, 1993 and 1999.
Mukherjee's political acumen and long experience in government made him liable to attain many posts, he was made a minister many times. Most important ministries like Commerce, Defense, Foreign and Finance Ministries became these ministers. In mantri Apart from the posts, he was also advisor and chairman of many departments. Mukherjee was nominated by the UPA as Presidential candidate on June 15, 2012. They won the election on 19 July 2012 and the result was declared on 22 July 2012. He was sworn in by the Chief Justice of India on 25 July 2012. This is the first Bengali to become President.
He married Suvra Mukherjee on 13 July 1957. He has two sons and a daughter. His elder son is also in politics. His daughter is a Kathak dancer. His hobbies are reading, gardening and music. In the social sector, he has a great respect, Mukherjee has received many honors and titles. He also received the honor of the world's best Finance Minister and Finance Minister of Asia. The Government of India honored him with the Padma Vibhushan in 2008.
The University of Wolverhampton called him 'Honorable Doctor In 2011, he was given the title of Owners Letters. In 2012, Assam University awarded him Honorary D.Litt. Mukherjee has also written books. His books are: Mid Term Poll, Violent Survival, Emerging Dimensions of Indian Economy, of the Track, Saga of Struggle and Secret, Challenge Before the Nation. Of course, Mukherjee is a man of versatility. He is a dynamic personality. He has used every moment of his life positively. Traveling from a small post reached the highest position of India today.
